Payments & Fees
Your sales stay yours.
Customer online payments are processed through the venue's own Stripe account. Fairway Flow receives only the agreed Fairway Flow service fee from successful online payments and does not hold the venue's underlying sales revenue.
Frequently asked
How money moves through Fairway Flow
-
Where does the customer's money go?
When a customer pays online, their payment is processed as a direct charge into your venue's own connected Stripe account. Fairway Flow does not receive or hold your sale proceeds.
-
Does Fairway Flow ever hold our money?
No. Your connected Stripe account owns the customer's payment. Fairway Flow only ever receives its own agreed service fee from successful online payments — never your underlying sales revenue.
-
What does Fairway Flow charge?
Fairway Flow charges an agreed commercial fee — a percentage of each successful online payment, set for your venue. It's taken directly from that payment and is never added on top as a separate charge to your customer.
-
Does Stripe charge separately?
Yes. Stripe's own payment-processing fee is separate from Fairway Flow's fee and is charged to your connected Stripe account. Stripe's current pricing should be checked directly with Stripe rather than assumed from this page.
-
Who pays Stripe's processing fee?
You do, as the venue. Fairway Flow does not currently pay or reimburse your ordinary Stripe processing fees.
-
When do we get paid?
Successful online payments land in your own Stripe balance first. Stripe then pays out to your bank account on the payout schedule and timing that applies to your Stripe account — Fairway Flow doesn't set or control that timing.
-
Can we change our payout schedule or bank account?
Yes. You have your own Stripe Dashboard and control your payout settings and bank-account details there, subject to Stripe's own rules. Fairway Flow does not store your bank-account details.
-
What happens with pay-at-pickup or cash orders?
A pay-at-pickup order never creates a Stripe payment, so it never generates a Fairway Flow fee either. You're responsible for collecting payment at pickup — Fairway Flow doesn't currently record or reconcile cash received.
-
How do refunds work?
An authorised venue owner or admin can issue a refund directly through Fairway Flow. The refund is created through Stripe against your connected account, and Fairway Flow reconciles it once Stripe confirms.
-
Does Fairway Flow keep its fee when an order is refunded?
No — for a full refund, Fairway Flow's own service fee is reversed automatically, verified end-to-end on a real Fairway Flow transaction. This only covers Fairway Flow's fee: Stripe's own processing fee from the original payment is generally not returned when a payment is refunded, under Stripe's standard pricing.
-
Can we partially refund an order?
Not yet through Fairway Flow's own refund tool — today's refund feature supports a full refund of the remaining payment only.
-
What happens if a payment fails?
If a customer's checkout is abandoned, fails, or their card is declined, no order is created and no Fairway Flow fee is ever charged. You'll never see an unpaid order in your queue.
-
What happens with disputes or chargebacks?
Because online payments are direct charges to your own connected Stripe account, a dispute or chargeback relates to that account, and you manage it directly through Stripe. Fairway Flow does not currently provide its own dispute tools — the exact financial and legal treatment of a dispute is governed by Stripe's own terms and your Stripe account arrangement.
-
Can Fairway Flow see our bank details?
No. Fairway Flow does not store your bank-account details anywhere in its own systems — that information is handled entirely through Stripe.
-
What happens to our Stripe account if we stop using Fairway Flow?
Your connected Stripe account is your own — it belongs to you, not Fairway Flow. Fairway Flow has no function that deletes or closes it, and your historical payment and refund records aren't automatically removed just because you stop using Fairway Flow.
-
Who do we contact for a payment problem?
For anything about a payment inside Fairway Flow — a missing payment, a fee question, or a refund — contact Fairway Flow first. For payout timing, bank-account changes, Stripe verification or a dispute, go to your own Stripe Dashboard or Stripe support.
- Fairway Flow's service fee and Stripe's processing fee are separate charges.
- Stripe's pricing, payout timing, verification requirements and dispute rules are set by Stripe and can change independently of Fairway Flow.
- GST and tax treatment of Fairway Flow's fee and Stripe's fee should be confirmed with your own accountant or tax adviser.
- This page is a general guide to how Fairway Flow's payment system currently works. It is not financial, tax or legal advice, and it does not replace Stripe's own terms and pricing.
